About me

I have been practicing social work since 2015, when I obtained my Masters in Social Work from Walla Walla University. I have a general therapeutic approach that is person centered with influences from cognitive behavioral and solution focused clinical theories. I have experience in work as a case manager at an insurance company for 3 years and then as an Emergency room social worker for 2 years, which gave me significant experience in working with individuals across many populations and with many different presenting issues.

Alpinia Purpurata

Red ginger

Alpinia… the origins of the name

Alpinia is the botanical name for ginger. The flowers are beautiful and the root is a lovely addition to food. I chose it because ginger can be spicy and sharp but can also help to improve food. This reminds me of counseling as it can be sharp and intense at times but helps to improve a person’s life.

My rates

I believe that high quality mental health care is important for all of us and that you should not have to sacrifice your privacy to get it. I therefore do not accept insurance so that you can more freely talk without worry about the impacts on your future health and mental health care.

Online or in-person, this is designated for individuals to process and explore their thoughts. Typically, meetings are weekly or bi-weekly.

Due to my beliefs surrounding diagnosing individuals and the requirements placed on providers who are contracted with insurances, I have chosen to only accept private pay clients in order to maintain adherence to my personal ethics surrounding this matter. I believe we are all moving through life learning new things and that from time to time we are faced with challenges that may require extra assistance. I am happy to partner with you to find the tools you need to deal with these challenges effectively.
