Choosing a counselor

I believe that counseling can be of benefit to all of us but that for it to reach its full potential you need to find the right counselor for you and this may require you to meet with several different options as you search. When you are choosing a counselor it is important that you find someone who you will feel comfortable opening up to. So to find this person you should look for someone with a similar background, interests, or approach. This way when you are talking with them they are more likely to understand where you are coming from and see things from your perspective so that they can best help you to see what you can do to improve your situation.
