CBT
Cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the primary treatment modalities currently used in counseling. The reason it is such a popular approach to therapy is that it provides concrete techniques, it has been around for years, it has been well studied, and those studies have shown that it does help people in a significant way. I have found it helpful when I am working with people as it can help to explain how we interact with and process information about ourselves as well as our environment. When people learn more then they are better able to make improvements in how they react to situations, they can make better choices, and improve their lives.
